The late Silvio Bot founded Bot Construction Limited.

Born in 1925 in Morsano al Tagliamento, Northern Italy, he came to Canada in 1948. Like other new immigrants, Silvio brought over his trade and worked as a manual labourer on construction sites. Through opportunity and ambition, in the 1950's he started a small curb and gutter subcontracting business. In these early years, he employed many artisans from his home country when they arrived in Canada.

Through his continual hard work and employee dedication, the company steadily progressed into one of the largest innovative and reputable general heavy civil contractors in North America, and is recognized as on of the "Who's Who in Canadian Business". Most of these employees have remained at the company over the years, or have retired here, or have upgraded their skills within the company.

Over the years, Silvio became a well-respected employer and business leader in the construction industry. Mr. Silvio Bot passed away in 1995 at the age of 70.
