Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Position Details

jobsite Heavy Equipment Mechanic provides support to the Main Equipment Shop operations in maintaining its extensive off-road heavy equipment fleet.  Working on a construction jobsite, they are assigned to perform repairs and servicing on company-owned equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mobile and stationary equipment including front end loaders, dozers, dump trucks, compactors, stationary and mobile generators.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
  • Follow procedure to inspect, repair and maintain functional parts of mechanical equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Major work areas include: Repair, Maintenance, Service, Recondition
  • Mechanical repair specialization includes: Drive trains and final drives, Power take-offs, brake systems, suspension and steering. Off-road vehicle tires and wheels.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Test equipment that has been repaired for proper performance;
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work;
  • Service equipment attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to frequently stoop, bend, and kneel.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to perform sustained and vigorous activities in a variety of environments, temperatures, and weather conditions. Exposure to grease, oils, and lubricants.
  • Ability to keep all work areas clean and organized
