Construction of two of Ontario’s longest elevated pedestrian bridges, north of Major Mackenzie Drive and west of Weston Road across Purpleville Creek, doubling as an above-ground utilities conduit to residential development.

Key Elements:

  • Construction of 2 steel plate girder structures (3 and 4 span, 172 m and 219 m L, maximum span of 75 m)
  • Pressure grouted micro-piles
  • Cast-in-place concrete deck
  • Installation of Leak Detection and Heat Trace System
  • Removal and restoration of temporary access roads
