Four-lane expansion of Highway 402, over 6 km, between the Blue Water Bridge and 0.4 km east of Modeland Road, a vital link in the Canda/US transportation network and serving the cities of Sarnia and Point Edward.

Key Elements:

  • Widening of Highway 402 from two to four lanes
  • Staged demolition and replacement of the Christina Street structure
  • Widening and rehabilitation of the Front Street and Colborne Road structures
  • Deck replacement and rehabilitation of the Indian Road and Murphy Road structures
  • Installation of 7 overhead signs, changeable message signs, traffic management system (ATMS), lighting and traffic signals
  • Drainage, storm sewers, median barrier wall, retaining walls, noise barriers, storm water management ponds
  • Removal of flyash (3,300 m3 )
